MOTHERS FOR MOTHERS; INTRODUCING HANTAMNY.ORG

Dear Family and Friends

In celebration of mothers day here in the U.S., I would like to honor Les Osler, co-founder of the Hantam Community Education Trust. In support of her I am delighted to announce the founding of a cause that is close to my heart- HantamNY.org - an American Friends 501c3 that supports her community program in rural South Africa.

Hantam’s program are all encompassing. They include an education to children from early stages through high school and facilitate further career training, giving agency to families over a future beyond poverty.  A health clinic provides necessary medicines, health education, and has helped the area overcome the crippling affects of alcoholism. Hantam has won several awards, including one given by Nelson Mandela, which has given hope to children in an area burdened by the cycles of poverty.

In addition to the regional awards, Hantam is doing their part by achieving 11 of the UN’s 17 Sustainability Goals – providing a future beyond poverty and hunger, good health and well-being, providing quality education, teaching and encouraging gender equality and incorporating the community in all decision making.

Hantam has been funded by local farmers and supporters in South Africa for 30 years, but we have realized that in order to secure their future we need to look beyond. This is where you come in.

You are reading this because we have met somewhere along our journeys and I want to ask you to support this mission. Whether it is spreading the word, sponsoring a child (#BestGraduationGift) or donating, every bit counts. Here are some ways you can engage:
